“I’m so happy and sad at the same time that I never talked and sang to any of my four children as babies. Now that I know from the Family Puppet Project the importance of early talk, I will forever wonder what my children’s experience in school would have been if I had talked and read to them as infants like I have with my grandchildren.”
Evelia, mother of four and grandmother of two under 2 years old
About the Family Puppet Project
Most families do not know that newborn babies have 100 BILLION neurons just waiting to be connected for their brain development. Using adorable finger puppets, we teach families to talk, talk, talk with their babies to connect those neurons and to foster social-emotional development, which gives 0-to-6-month-old babies the best start possible for school readiness.

Continuation of Funding for 2023
Our pilot project efforts were rewarded! The Denver Office of Children’s Affairs (OCA) and Colorado Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute (CCTSI) at Anschutz Medical Campus valued our Finger Puppet Project with 2-6-month-olds to award continuation funding for 2023 to help us impact more under-resourced families. Thanks to our Community Advisory Board members who lead the collaboration with Dr. Domek and Dr. Kubicek on implementation and evaluation design!
