Parents for Parity is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization led by parents in a limited-resource community with a culture-and-language-rich population to ensure that families have equity (parity) in education, health, nutrition, and in the environment.
Their leadership is a model for a community “aiding democracy from below” (Eleanor Roosevelt) without waiting for policy changes from above.
We support projects for infant brain and social-emotional development; closing the achievement/opportunity gap in schools; gardening for health, nutrition, food access and environmental stewardship; and promoting the legacy of Marie L. Greenwood, a woman who fought for social justice on whose shoulders we stand.
